I really should call this Ryan's garden. It's kind of his baby, he's got the farmer tan to prove it.
Nothing makes this sweet man's heart go pitter patter quite like gardening. It's been a good communication tool in our marriage - I compare my slight addiction to vintage sweaters and old textiles to his collecting different species of tomato plants. He totally gets it now :)
He has worked so diligently to keep that garden healthy and producing.
Every time we're talking to my midwife and she brings up nutrition he mentions how I'm getting plenty of fresh vegetables from the garden with a big smile :)
It's very much a tangible way that he can provide and contribute to the health of our family.
He can't wait to garden with our little girl :)
So, here we have beans, corn, pickling cucumbers, yellow squash, extra yellow squash (little did we know the seeds in the zucchini packet were actually squash seeds), acorn squash, butternut squash, banana peppers, bell peppers, jalapenos, watermelon, cantaloupe, eggplant, purple white and green onions, okra, basil, oregano and, no joke, about 15 different types of tomatoes. Then we have all different kinds of plants and flowers growing around the yard. My favorite is gardenia. And we can't forget the countless number of bunny families living here who helped themselves to every last bit of our kale and spinach.
